World Book Day Thursday 1st March 2018

So many different characters came to St Andrew’s!!!

Despite the snowy weather and cold the children made a fantastic effort with their costumes for World Book Day. We had Wally’s, Harry Potter, Alice in Wonderland, Peter Pan, Gangsta Granny in the school and many more other wonderful outfits.

The children had a special assembly and they all showed their special costumes. Mrs Worth – who was Queen of Hearts for the day – asked the children where their favourite place to read a book was; ‘in bed’, ‘at school’; ‘in dad’s car’ and even ‘in a tree’! There was then a quiz where the children had to work out who the character or the author was and finally Mrs Worth read a story called the Incredible Eating Boy!

A big thank you to all the children who took part; and parents/carers for helping create some great outfits! Unfortunately due to the snow and school closing early we were unable to do the ‘Read Together’ sessions, but hopefully next year the weather will be kinder!
