Year 5 start their Young Leader Training!

Year 5 went to Kings Park Tennis Centre on Friday 27th September for their Young Leader training. They participated in lots of activities and they were a credit to the school – their behaviour and team work was excellent. We look forward to getting the Young Leaders involved in school clubs and lunchtime activities.

Althorp had a great time making and launching their rockets. “My rocket was very successful and it went an amazing 8m,” said Connor. Naima agreed that it was a fun afternoon although it was a shame that her rocket didn’t survive the landing.

Year 5 learn about mountains!

Today, we have learnt how mountains are formed. We used the eggs to show how the tectonic plates, fault lines and mountains were made. The tissue paper shows how fold mountains were formed. The Alps are an example of fold mountains.
