Part Time Clerk to Governors required for September 2020

We are looking for a Clerk to Governors to join our hardworking, friendly team in September 2020.

The Clerk to the Governing Body (GB) will provide high quality administrative and organisational support including the preparation of accurate and fair minutes of the meetings, and maintaining the GB's administrative and organisational records and papers. You will also provide expert guidance and advice to the GB with respect to procedures, compliance and best practice and proactively contribute to the effective governance of St. Andrew’s CEVA Primary School.

Administration experience is essential. You will need to be able to work under your own initiative, manage deadlines, update and keep accurate written and electronic records. The ability to remain impartial, comply with data protection legislation and maintain confidentiality is paramount.

Predominantly evening work to cover 16 meetings per year. Meetings normally start at 7pm, with 3 Strategy meetings being held during the school day. Apart from attendance at meetings, the role can be carried out from home, at times to suit the post holder (within agreed deadlines).

To help the successful applicant fulfil their role, we expect them to attend relevant training events.

Key aspects of the role:

This role will be on a part time basis.
Access to a computer, home printer and the internet from home is essential as the majority of the work will be home based.
You will also need to be able to travel as necessary.
Previous clerking experience is essential.
