Silly Squad Reading Challenge 2020

Northamptonshire County Council’s Libraries are inviting all children to join the Silly Squad Summer Reading Challenge 2020.

Celebrating having fun, the Silly Squad are encouraging children to read or listen to anything that makes them happy: fiction or non-fiction, joke books, comics, in digital or print format, books from libraries or books they already have access to at home.

Whilst libraries are closed, the Summer Reading Challenge is completely online and children can sign up for free on the Silly Squad website and begin reading. As they read books, they can write reviews and unlock online badges and activities, before unlocking their certificate once the challenge is completed.

Families are encouraged to join in and get silly with the free downloadable activities released on the website every week. Children can also borrow eBooks and eAudio books from their  e-lending platforms, and can become members of the virtual library by getting their parent or carer to sign them up.

Libraries will also be offering a series on online events during July and August, from crafts to storytelling. See the latest updates by following their Facebook page.
