Year 6

Welcome to Year 6

Welcome back to school and we hope that you are excited to be back and that you’ve had a really lovely summer! We are looking forward to the year ahead and all the exciting things we have planned! Mrs Worth & Mrs McDermott teach Grendon and Mrs Connors teaches Lamport. Mrs Williams, Mr Dalton and Mrs Richards also work in Year 6.

We have a lot of hard work to do in Year 6, to prepare for secondary school and the SATs assessments in May. Please do not book any holidays in May 2026 as it is essential that your children are in school to take the national assessments.

In Year 6 you will be expected to be a lot more independent and organised and take responsibility for yourself and your belongings. You are expected to read nightly and record this in your reading record with a parental signature and complete homework weekly. English and Maths homework will be given out on a Friday and is due in on the following Tuesday. P.E. takes place on Mondays and Wednesdays.

Despite the hard work that takes place, we also have a lot of fun in Year 6 and there are lots of things to look forward to and lots of responsibilities such as being a house captain!

We are looking forward to this year!

Mrs Connors, Mrs Worth and Mrs McDermott
