STEM CHALLENGE Thursday 7th July

On Thursday 4th July, the whole school took part in their first STEM challenge (Science, Technology, engineering and Maths). The purpose of this was for the children to apply their knowledge of towers into a real life context through a practical activity. All the classes were mixed up and the children had to construct a tower strong enough to hold a basketball on the top.

It was a successful afternoon and the children really enjoyed building the towers. Each class had at least one successful tower that could withstand the weight of a basketball. It was a pleasure to see all the children engaged in their learning and working together as a team. With the success of this STEM challenge Mr Harvey will look to plan another exciting activity next year!
